Anybody know a decent, modern replacement for Tag&Rename?

It used to be our favourite tag editor, but development seemingly stopped back in 2018.

We're ideally looking for something that's:

  • Cross-platform (at least Windows and Linux).
  • Has a user-friendly UI.

It must:

  • Have a dark mode option.
  • Be compatible with modern tags, particularly lyrics ones, which we're apparently way out of date on 😅
    • We think the newer Vorbis tag is UNSYNCEDLYRICS, based on some downloaded FLAC files, versus the older LYRICS tag we're used to.

For context, we primarily use WACUP on desktop or Poweramp on Android.

Not sure if it's a thing, but if there's some kind of new option for synced lyrics that's compatible with both of the above, that would be amazing!

Tag & Rename - software to edit music files tag, it supports mp3 (all ID3v2 tag versions), wma, ogg, mp4 (m4a, m4p), flac, ape. You can organize tags using freedb or discogs, rename files, etc.

Ich höre leider viel zu selten am Smartphone Musik, um die pfiffige UI von #Poweramp richtig zu schätzen. Einfach an jeder Ecke vollgestopft mit Features, nach denen wir uns damals auf iPods die Hände geleckt hätten, und dann sogar noch eine richtig gute UX; die 3D-Visualisierungen – einfach woah! =)

I just found that RMPC and Poweramp (on my phone) allow you to define characters for how to split genres. So now you can have "epic doom metal // doom metal" to have it appear for both?

Macrodroid is very bad at variables and fetching data.
(Better make everything a global var lol)

I still have a #old #Tasker version installed cause it helps with fetching #Poweramp trackids...

Shame arlosoft is too busy.
On the flipside #Tasker has issue with staying in RAM at times

And then there is #XPosedEdge which has its own set of issues..

Tasker has way more plugins too.

These programscan enable simple #webapps to (inter)act wih your device.
Pretty neat

@Gargron This is wanted behaviour tho.
You stil have much to learn about how businesses operate.

(Similar to how #google magically allows the worst of spam comments and weirdly filters out, even #shadowban s useful comments.)

Maybe the only ""shocking"" thing is using a closed source, locked-down, lame excuse of a #music "#streaming" service

Imagine actually buying* music and using an #Audioplayer , #Shoutcast or #Poweramp (sorry iOS ppl) to play music locally perhaps even.

Unimaginable....
