I remember seeing a tool years ago to help you ensure that shell scripts would run using as wide a variety of POSIX shells as possible.

I've forgotten what it was.

Can someone remind me?

#Linux #bash #shell #POSIX #posixCompliant

Why a session leader can not change it's pgid? #process #posixcompliant

May your New Year 2024 be filled with #Posix compliance!
#PosixCompliant #Linux

Hear me out: #NuShell but #posixCompliant.

Jokes aside, there are so many #Posix non-compliant #shell implementations that are so cool, but almost any #shellScript expects a compliant env. It also does not seem to be too appealing of a skill to any employer

Anything out there like what I described that I'm missing maybe?

My #posixcompliant Shell Login Manager is currently in stable condition. Sometime soon, I will make it work like a proper Login-/Display Manager by making it call /usr/share/xsessions and wayland-sessions only, but the way it currently works is fine and consistent as well. I hope I can get some help in this regard sometime soon, though.

@kev @codesections don't forget the escape the space with \ or encapsulate with quotes.

So either "Pop-exclamation mark-underscore-Oh-Ess" or Pop-exclamation\ mark-underscore-Oh-Ess

#POSIXcompliant 😏
