First attempt at emulsion lifts; by the last one, getting better results — though I do like some of what’s going on in that first. Just not sure how much was due to me learning, since the material behaved so differently each time.

I’ve wanted to try for a while, and now’s the time; I’ve run out of my backlog of Polaroids and these illustrate why. Had surgery to have bones in my foot fused, a screw and plate installed; unable to put weight on it, and mostly confined to part of the house for the past six weeks.

Working from X-rays provided by the doctor, printed on a Polaroid Lab on i-Type film. Paper is high-cotton, but not exactly watercolor paper.

Our foxes are usually relatively shy and only come out at night, but during a very long and sticky heatwave, this one decided it had No Fucks Left To Give and stretched out on a shady part of our lawn to hide from the daystar* 🦊

He knew I was there, just too hot to care!

Advice please from the #emulsionliftgang?
I have one more (colour) frame left in my #PolaroidLab. I have one pack each of colour and B&W i-Type plus some of the 600 reclaimed blue (which I could put in a camera instead). I think I've gone all Polaroid fanboi. I'm thoroughly enjoying printing little gems with the Polaroid Lab printer. I'll do more emulsion lifts but these are great in and of themselves.

Seriously, this is what life with Polaroid is going to be like isn't it?

9 out of 10 frames are going to be a bit 'meh' with weird colours but then suddenly 10th frame is a pure moment of magic that will grab your heart and give it a good squeeze until you just have to make more Polaroids.
