There is a time honored tradition in polite society of substituting punctuation for profanity. For my final photo in this series, I wanted to express a common sentiment, and do it with profanity. I was trying to figure out how to handle that when it occurred to me that the six failed photos from my first pack of Round Frame might hold the answer. Abstract “photos” of nothing could substitute for punctuation. And so we get this. If you squint your eyes, you might see that the failed photos were chosen for a resemblance to the letters of my intended profanity here. %*$# ICE and the ICE KING.

Polaroid Week, Fall 2025, day 4 Last night on a whim I decided to resurrect my Impossible I-1 to try it out for this Polaroid Week. At first it didn't seem to be charging, but after a while the charging light did come on...phew. I just felt like, after

No ICE again

I suppose these are going to be more or less the same photo over and over, but that’s okay. The “NO” symboll (the circle with the line through it) is actually added in-camera. I drew one using Affinity Designer and printed it out on a sheet of Pictorico transparency that I usually use for alt process digital negatives. I cut that down to a size that would let me fit it in the cartridge, but my first test showed it slipped a bit and the graphic was misplaced. I found an old ND filter from my days of using 600 film in unmodified SX-70s and cut the overlay into the same shape and that seems to have (mostly) fixed it. I may want to trim it a little to shift the graphic down a millimeter or three.

Polaroid Week, Fall 2025, day 3 W00t, w00t, I found my Polaroid Land Camera 420 (yeah, yeah, whatever) among my camera gear here, so I busted out a pack of my precious Fuji FP-100c film from the fridge and reacquainted myself with how to shoot with this camera. There was

I had an idea for a theme for Polaroid Week, and no time to execute it. I tried, and found that my original idea only really worked if I used basically the entire output in a single composite image. That was Day 1. That left me with the rest of the week and no photos. I had an idea for a pivot, and one pack of Round Frame, but the pack mostly failed, six frames of random noise and two frames that didn’t quite work. So I had to wait for more film. Adorama got me film in a day. It got here an hour ago. So here are a couple of shots that I took very very recently. Mint SLR-670X I-Type, Polaroid 600 Round Frame. I think you get the message here.
