From #PhysicsWorld:
"Physics World understands that Fermilab – the US’s premier particle-physics lab – suspended its DEI office and its women in engineering group in January. Meanwhile, the Fermilab LBGTQ+ group, called Spectrum, was ordered to cease all activities and its mailing list deleted. Even the rainbow “Pride” flag was removed from the lab’s iconic Wilson Hall."

Antimatter is tied up in one of the world’s greatest mysteries. Physics predicts that when we create matter, we also create equal amounts of antimatter. Yet there seems to be almost no antimatter in our universe, a fact that has long puzzled physicists. Now, physicists at Simon Fraser University, the University of Calgary, TRIUMF, the University of British Columbia, York University and the British Columbia Institute of Technology and research institutions from around the world have just answered a long-standing question that will lead to a deeper understanding of antimatter: Does it fall down? Or does it fall up? The Antihydrogen Laser Physics Apparatus (ALPHA) collaboration at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, completed the first direct measurement of gravity’s effect on the motion of antimatter using its new ALPHA-g apparatus.
#PhysicsWorld 🇬🇧 "the official line from the #government 🏢 is that #SpaceLaunch facilities will be a boon to the #UK economy, swelling UK industry capitalization from £17 billion now to £40 billion 💰 by 2030. One hurdle is #competition. There are around 168 #LaunchCompanies around the world 🌏, at different stages of development. Even if many fall by the wayside the #LaunchMarket will inevitably become crowded, making it a challenge for UK #SpacePorts to compete.
