The 1st perfect game in major league history occurred on June 12, 1880 by Lee Richmond of the Worcester Worcesters against the Cleveland Blues 1-0. Richmond had 5 strikeouts, while 3 outs were recorded on "foul bounds," where a fielder caught a ball that had bounced in foul territory once - a rule that stayed in place until 1883.
Richmond finished with a record of 75-100.
