Cătă 🇷🇴🇺🇦🇲🇩🇪🇺Hugely disappointed by today's decision of our president Nicușor Dan (@[email protected]) to bring our country at the #TrumpTable next to #failedstatedictatorships like #Hungary or #Belarus and other problematic countries, next week. As a #Romanian, I am totally embarrassed by this situation. There's a huge fail on tackling the #fascist situation inside the country already, and I don't remember him saying anything in defense of #Greenland when it happened. And now this.
I believe the #peaceCouncil (quote-unquote) is simply a legal framework that allows for countries to do whatever the orange guy in the #WhiteHouse wants without getting any real possibility to oppose it. And the 1 billion dollars tax just to get a permanent seat is ridiculous. Of course, #Romania will only get an observer seat (so we're in the free tier), but attending this, all while most #European countries rejected the idea, looks like is just bowing down for #Trump - and it will likely further increase the gap from us and the (still) legitimate international institutions that follow the rule of law.
