POLYMEGAというレトロゲーム機がありまして、大きな特徴としては業界初のCDメディア対応でPlayStationやセガサターン、PCエンジンCD-ROM2といったソフトを読み込ませられるだけではなく、別売の各種スロットの付いたモジュールを取り付けることでカートリッジのソフトもプレイ可能になるという夢のマシンです。
本体およびいくつかのモジュールは既に所有していたのですが、今回ブラックフライデーのセールに乗じてようやくファミコンおよびスーパーファミコン用のモジュールを購入しました。個人的にはこれで欲しかったものは全部揃えた形です。
この手のゲーム機がすべてのソフトの動作を保証する訳ではなく運次第というのは理解してはいますが、それでも用意したファミコンソフト20本ほどのうち7本も読み込めなかったのは思ったより多くて残念。ただ経年による接触不良の可能性も大きそうなので、メンテナンスによって何本かは復活してくれることを期待します。
