Несмотря на то, что на дворе уже 2025 год, и, казалось бы уже все давным давно держат свои вычислительные ресурсы (сервера) в облаке или, как минимум, в виде виртуальных машин, я оказался в ситуации, что мне нужно конвертировать 2 физических лаб сервера в виртуальные машины:

After a hard disk failure of a customers peer „server“ I now went #P2V there with #proxmox using the last backup with #veambackup free agent for windows and the corresponding disaster recovering .iso ! It was dead simple doing a bare metal restore as a new Proxmox VM.

@da_667 you know you sell people a bunch of pc butfor medium biz they really can benefit from stuff like debian, dual nas, opnsense, pihole, - the basics but also faster networking, ids/ips system, pkt cap 24/7, even ssl proxy, rsync backups to nvme. having more visibility into the network allows organizations to leverage the data that piles up in the db as well as real time. a point needs to be made for the minimum raw basic infrastructure and then orgs can realize gestalt #p2v #fwupd #elk stack scripting #dashboards #centralized logs #netbox #zeek #snort #sigs

Anybody have any experience converting a physical Win2000 install to virtual? I'm stuck on inaccessible boot device and a lot of the resources on the Internet are dead links. Trying to preserve whatever was on this old drive. This seems like a driver issue but I don't really know.
