Finished the last game I needed for a DWZ yesterday.

Gonna check a few times per day if it has been published and when that happens, I’m gonna start writing a new blog post.

This one’s gonna be a bit of information about DWZ and a little recap of the seven games with my thought process.

I’m really excited and can’t wait to get it.

Today I had my first loss in a chess tournament.
It would’ve been fine if my opponent just outplayed me but I made such a stupid blunder and got my knight trapped at the side of the board.
As always, I’m gonna put the game in the analysis just for the sake of doing so, but there’s nothing really to be analyzed.

Such a stupid mistake…
Two moves before I knew I can’t move a pawn one square forward since they would block my knights escape but for whatever reason then decided I want to move the pawn so the enemy knight can’t get into my position.

That stupid mistake got my knight trapped at the few moves later.

I’ll post the analyses later today, probably in the evening.
Look at it, laugh at it and promise me to not make the same mistake in one of your games.

Gorgeous article in the largest Polish newspaper #wyborcza about an #AmateurMathematician (medical) dr Gąsior digging into the #einstein tiling. It reminds me of #OverTheBoard #chess players analysing positions with more insight than players who strongly rely on working with a computer. I believe that fostering such skills is essential and should be celebrated. A #wholesome observation: if you are laying tiles on a bathroom floor then it really matters if you have to use the mirror reflection of the tiles because one side will be smooth and the other side will have a ragged texture. This might seem goofy, but the overall discussion was sharp and energizing e.g. you can subdivide the einstein tile into other polygons when it becomes, once again, a 'multistein' tiling.
