Interesting article from Jonathan Freedland in the Guardian... Labour's eternal dilemma - to be bold and risk losing or the be cautious and risk failing ...
My own opinion has always been ... cautious to get elected and then bold in office. People will know what they voted for and allow a Government some leeway, always allowing for competence.
Cultural (loose use of the term) completions of 2023 so far:
#StarTrek films (First through Generations, courtesy of @channel4).
#OurFriendsInTheNorth (courtesy of @bbciplayer)
Verdicts:
Star Trek acting improved (mostly) but plots deteriorated.
Our Friends in the North had very strong acting performances but again, some plot holes.
A lot going on in both and I'm glad I finished them, but I don't think I'd revisit either.
I’ve been watching #OurFriendsInTheNorth. It’s 1984. Brilliant series and a great soundtrack, including My Perfect Cousin by The Undertones.
