As a former Chaplain involved with the incarcerated, Walmart has become a place I look forward to visiting.
Some of the inmates I know see me at the checkout and run up to hug me. I get emotional.
Others I see averting their gaze hoping not to be noticed. I run up and hug them and they get emotional.
No condemnation, just a little love.

The fulcrum for "Blue" resistance is the Establishment Clause, the constitutional separation of Church and State.
The Center/Left must address the question of enforcing the boundary.
To Govern where citizens enjoy real freedom of Religion ... we must prevent religion in government.
Otherwise, we are slipping on the slope of sectarian conflict, racism and fascist theocracy.
"Establishment" needs more discussion!

@RollingStone This kind of hateful confrontationalism reared its head in Evangelical circles a decade ago. Remember when Starbucks was in the bullseye?
I was (more than once) ostracized for sporting coffee in my Starbucks plastic refillable. I said "Brother, sometimes coffee is just coffee."
We still have the cups. But have long since lost those fellows.
Politics brought the confrontationalism through the doors, actually.
Toss in the corruption of greed and power mongering - the cauldron magically becomes Christian Nationalism.
Have thought about this since 2015.
