nachdem wochenendausflug hatte ich keinen zugriff mehr auf die lokale opencloud. fehler 500. also erstmal die logs angesehen. viele warnungen und fehler. sah auf den ersten blick nicht gut aus. also erstmal ausgeloggt, eine nacht darüber geschlafen und nochmal einen blick drauf geworfen. [...]

Hey #Linux folks, I'm having trouble deciding between #OpenCloud and #Seafile for our #HomeServer. It's a pretty beefy system so the overhead of each shouldn't be too much of a determining factor. I have 2 10tb hard drives that are raid1 and I have docker installed. Oh, and I installed Ubuntu Server because I'm comfortable with Ubuntu already.
My main goal is to make it easy to share and distribute files and store backups and media. I plan on adding #JellyFin at a later date for streaming.
One of the differences I noticed is that each one uses a different dbms. Not a big deal I don't think.

Vor ein paar Monaten ersetzte ich #NextCloud durch #OpenCloud.
Ich nutze es selbst-gehostet auf einem Raspberry Pi. OpenCloud ist spürbar schneller und wirkt solider.
Für File-Storage/Share eigentlich besser.
Aber es gibt auch Probleme.
Das größte: wenn ich auf dem Rechner (Linux) Files lösche, werden die teils neu vom Server nachgeladen, statt sie auch auf dem Server zu löschen.

@enigmax I understand that you don't like the approach of having proprietary enterprise features but may I ask how you'd like to tackle having FOSS development financed?
I also know European projects who do it the same way (i.e. #OpenProject and #OpenCloud ).
Would it be better for you if the GitLab HQ would be in Brussels but there would still be proprietary modules or is both unacceptable for you?

Doch dann kam OpenCloud. Ich habe in den letzten Jahren unzählige Systeme installiert, aber was das Team hinter OpenCloud (ocis/infinite scale) hier abgeliefert hat, verdient
Grad wollte ich @McPringle bitten (bzw. habe ich schon), mir mal wieder bei meiner #NextCloud-Installation zu helfen ... die hat sich nämlich beim Update auf v33.0.0 mal wieder verschluckt ... da lese ich was von #OpenCloud. Was das wohl wieder ist?
