Yes! Running #Freelens v1.6 instead of #OpenLens v6.5 solves the problem. It has what I need out of the box, log icon is there, no extensions necessary. It even starts faster too! OpenLens notoriously takes forever to load.

10/10, no notes.

Freelens - A Graphical IDE for Kubernetes

It seems that #OpenLens is discontinued as of 2025, and there's a fork #FreeLens.

I'm in OpenLens 6.5.2, and I don't have the Log icon on my pods. Online they say the solution is to install the extension @alebcay/openlens-node-pod-menu, but I have that.

Help?

Lens 5 was better, honestly, I don't see any improvements.

Enough of using restricted #OpenLens — I just discovered https://headlamp.dev/ which does what I need !

Congrats to the team !

How to make OpenLens work with WSL on Windows, including log tailing, port forwarding, exec support, and more.

how the hell do you add an #imagePullSecret to an #initContainer in the #bitnami #helm chart for #keycloak 19? #thankFSM for #openlens

but at least i won in terms of its running again #overtime

For those in the #kubernetes world, Mirantis/Lens has just gone and removed the terminal, pod logs, and pod exec functionality from OpenLens. They've seen that people are compiling their own from the repo to avoid the forced login/id system, and are now actively attacking people who expect it to remain a #FOSS product. Do not update past 6.2.x if you use #OpenLens. A Fork will appear soon enough.

@johummel I had totally forgotten about #OpenLens. I might have to take it for another spin. Have you looked at #k9s? It's great for us #cli junkies.
