Russian-British comedian Olga Koch claims that Russians are evil because they have no word for empathy.
It makes for a good joke - loved the punchline (no spoilers) - but I'm unsure if it is true. The openrussian.org dictionary comes back with сопережива́ние which means "compassion, empathy" and эмпатия which literally means empathy. Google translate of those both gives empathy.

Just listened to the latest episode of The Now Show.
#OlgaKoch was great on “a girl’s guide to dating a tech bro in 2023” but my favourite joke was when the guys were giving definition of new words that have appeared recently and gave Chatbot as "someone who talks out of their arse."
