It’s always nice to brighten a rainy day with an #OSbenchmark 🙂 #Penrith #Cumbria

Look what I bagged today @aroundthehills 🙂 #OSbenchmark #CarlisleCathedral

07/09/2024 - Summer is back! Cloudy on the coast so we headed inland. A lovely day spent at Leith Hall. The walled garden here is just great. So peaceful. So many bees, butterfies and hoverflies about today. We were all enjoying the sun and it was hot! Well into the 20s.

Always nice to spot an unexpected OS benchmark away from one’s local patch. This one is on the rail trail near #Grosmont #NorthYorksMoorsRailway #OSbenchmark

Sometimes it helps to know what you're looking for and exactly where to look.

I should really have taken a context photo .... but I would have been run over.

My offering for #StandingStoneSunday is more likely a guide post, but it’s stone and it stands so 🤷🏻‍♀️ #LealholmRigg #NorthYorksMoors #OSbenchmark tall pic, needs a click…
Time for ‘spot the #benchmark’ Shouldn’t be difficult with this crisp and well maintained example #OSbenchmark #OrdnanceSurvey
An Ordnance Survey cut benchmark on the 17th century All Saints Church. Farley. The church was attributed to Sir Christopher Wren and built by his master mason Alexander Fort. It was funded by Sir Stephen Fox a local man and friend of Wren. #Benchmarks #OSBenchmark #OrdnanceSurvey
I am always on the lookout for an Ordnance Survey benchmark whilst out walking. These little beauties are dotted all over the place and were an essential part in mapping. This one is on a bridge in the Wiltshire village of Pitton. #Benchmarks #OSBenchmark #OrdnanceSurvey
