Friends are doing one of those multi-day organised-ish walks in Japan, not far from Osaka. I asked if there were many others walking and they told me about a woman who was really unwell yesterday. Lots of coughing, feeling terrible with a "really bad cold".
So, #notCOVID then?
Narrator: from the symptoms they described, it's likely #COVID19. I dare say they'll have it in the next couple of days.

Yay, not Covid. I still feel like death, though. No fever, but I check all the other flu symptoms. First time I’ve been this sick since I had Covid back in 2020.

Yeah more will have severe outcomes, but I'm not too sure about acute illness.
The uptake of the last iteration was so poor, that I don't think the amount of people getting the vax is going to materially be different.
My theory is that more are having zero immediate response and then suffering/dying mysteriously of #NotCovid, e.g. strokes, pneumonia, etc.
Every time I think this cold is receding it suddenly comes up with another symptom. This time it's my sinuses constantly streaming.
Tissues and aloe being generously applied.
