The Meeting on the Turret Stairs - Wikipedia

Went to see the 2x Turner exhibitions in the National Gallery of Ireland today. The visiting exhibition blew my mind. But my favorite part was enjoying how terribly Turner mangled any human figure in the larger pieces. He was baaaad. It's extremely gratifying to see a genius of the highest order struggled; makes you appreciate his other work even more. He wasn't an automaton but someone who worked hard to bring art to a new place. #art #NationalGalleryIreland #turner #badAtHumans
Wonderful to be back in a room full of masterpieces by Jack B. Yeats, including this one: The Liffey Swim (1923) #NationalGalleryIreland #JackBYeats #Dublin

Brilliant seeing sketch books with miniture paintings from 1805 by JMW Turner at "Turner: The Sun is God" at National Gallery Dublin yesterday. Such a privilege seeing how this prolific artist from 200 years ago worked thru the unfinished paintings, sketches and completed works. Nice to avail of Thursday evening discount price of €5 too. He played with dark as well as light 🌤🎨🖌🖼
