Ok. Been quiet for a few days, which means, I went on another EPIC ride!
This time was Mount Greylock, the highest mountain in Massachusetts. In a century+ ride (108 miles), and 12000 ft elevation gain in total.
It was a brutal brutal ride. And I had a really bad day. Got a stomach bug or food poisoning on the day before, and the symptoms persisted on the morning of the ride, with one of the worst nights of sleep I had lately. My buddy encouraged me to try it, since it is a 2.5 hour drive from Boston. So I started. Legs felt like bricks. I set into my own pace so it felt better. But I almost gave up after breathing too hard and going too deep on a 20+% hill. I decided to keep going. And I successfully climbed up Mount Greylock, survived the grueling 10-20%, 3.5 miles long hill at mile 90, and finished the ride without any regrets. Though everything hurts. And I wouldn't put anyone else through this.
