I thought that #MoonOfTheCrustedSnow, Waubgeshig Rice
and
#driveyourplowoverthebonesofthedead Olga Tokarczuk
were both amazing books and I was thrilled that Zoom allowed me to "interact" with both writers at the height of the restrictions! Those online author talks were fabulous while they lasted.

I was surprised that these weren't necessarily books from 2022. Big fan of #MoonOfTheCrustedSnow and #StationEleven.

There are SO many amazing #DiverseWriters! Check out #MoonOfTheCrustedSnow by #WabgeshigRice and #Noor by #NnediOkorafor for starters. Following the murder of #GeorgeFloyd, I made it a goal that 1/2 my reading would be by writers with a different ethnocultural or gender/sexual identity to mine. It's turned out to be more like 75%. Super interesting. Also, there are MANY Japanese writers who write SciFi/fantasy.

#FirekeepersDaughter by Angeline Boulley is amazing! Sadly, it's her only book although I've heard there may be a sequel. Not YA but #MoonOfTheCrustedSnow by Waubgeshig Rice is also amazing.
