Originally planned for July 1 ala Angeline Boulley Day, here is some fan art I made to commemorate my cousin's 1st book #FirekeepersDaughter as I imagined the main characters would look like with my art style. Enjoy!

Nearing the halfway mark of my cousin's debut work.
Also, and without giving anything away, one of the chapters vaguely mentioned something I seriously hope is addressed further into the book. Otherwise, what was the point in mentioning it at all? Hmm...
10 chapters read tonight. That's enough for now.
But it's getting good. That's all I'm going to say to ensure spoiler-free commentary.
I'm aiming to read at least 5-10 chapters a day so I can read the book efficiently. It also helps I'm using the audiobook and the actual book for this.
7 chapters read so far. Then I took a nap. May read up to chapter 10 before bed tonight.
BTW if it sounds like I'm poking fun at my cousin's book, that is not the case. It's a fun read so far.
I'm getting some good laughs at the lingo and dialogue, and I really appreciate her emphasis on explaining our indigenous culture to native and non-native readers alike.
I'm listening to the audiobook alongside my signed copy and I am a bit annoyed by the narrator not emphasizing the 'zh' in zhaaganaash <white person>.
It's driving me crazy, lol.
Did my cousin Angeline play or see cutscenes of Life is Strange when she wrote the conversational dialogue between Daunis and Lily?
I love it regardless, haha.

After years of putting it off, I started re-reading the 1st 4 chapters of my cousin's book and resuming where I left off.
Sure, the familiarity of the story's starting location has detracted from my imagination a bit, but I am liking what I'm reading so far.
I was re-acquainted with my 2nd cousin Angeline Boulley (yes THAT Angeline) at a book signing here in town today. Happy her new book about an "indigenous lara croft" is doing well.
