Continuing work on the Enterprise. Took the advice of a friend and bought some Microscale Industries “Liquid Decal Film”. It’s designed to help very old decals maintain their cohesion when you put them in water.
The Tamiya Color Clear Acrylic spray helped somewhat, but I still had issues with disintegration. We’ll see how this does; I’m hopeful. #StarTrek #ModelRockets
Slow progress on the Enterprise as I add the 50-year-old decals.
As I mentioned before, these decals tend to disintegrate on contact with water (and you need water to apply them) so … I’m going slowly. Very slowly. #ModelRockets
Progress on the Enterprise! I'm almost done with painting the fine details. I've got a few small tiles to paint and glue to the ship (little nervous about those) and then the main event:
Attempting to apply 50-year-old water-based decals to the ship. #StarTrek #ModelRockets
Slow-but-steady progress on my Enterprise model rocket. I didn't like the original base coat (too dark and too gray) so I bought a can of Testor's Light Aircraft Gray paint.
I'm liking it. #ModelRockets #Rocketry #StarTrek

As I was working on the Enterprise last night, I realized I had primed it, but hadn't put on the "spaceship gray" base coat. Today, I ran out & grabbed paint from my local hardware store to fix that.
The ship's being supported by a newspaper-wrapped wooden dowel, held in place by the Star Trek Adventures rulebook #StarTrek #ModelRockets
