“Cover”, il thriller di Bendis e Mack ambientato nel mondo delle fiere di fumetto
Leo'Jet Ski Fuel'nardoLawson's almost always played around with layouts like this, as far back as TMNT's first volume's 49th issue. His work for volume 2 is full of these wonderful, sometimes almost collage like splash pages that abandon panel borders and just let characters and moments almost free-float. It's a fantastic way to tell a story using still images and I think he's at his best when doing so.
Hey, you're not gonna believe this, this room is made entirely out of your favourite cake! *door slam, bolt lock* I lied, this is a "Tales of Leonardo: Blind Sight" room, where I talk about one of my favourite TMNT things, why it's that and also the issues with it's ambitious but very flawed ending.
Michael Dooney. Shadow's a big Hello Kitty and Hellboy fan apparently. Also think that plush toy in the corner is Fluffy Brockelton, one of the stars from Dooney's own Mirage series Gizmo!
And Eastman again with Ryan Brown. Even though the early Mirage Turtles were never especially distinct from one another, the "Ya" makes it feel like this is Raph with Leo's swords. Wonder what happened.
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles "frontispieces".
"Tales" is an anthology style series Mirage created to supply Turtle demand and also have fun making more contained or off beat stories. Every single issue opens with this Twilight Zone-esque frontispiece by one of the Mirage crew and their friends where the Turtles and chums wax philosophical at you and end on the unfortunately Vans and Candy line "Let me tell you a story..."

These fine specimens are named after Mirage artists Eric Talbot and Jim Lawson! Their allegiances: unknown. Their shit: kingly.
