I'm not going to name names, but I wish people would stop talking about cancer with militaristic language.
It ain't no "battle." I did not "win," and those who don't survive did not "lose."
Here's an old post of mine about the issue:

Cut it with the militaristic language and cancer. Shitty headline: Martin Luther King Jr.’s Youngest Son Dies at Home after Losing Battle with ‘Terrible Disease' The people who die from cancer don't "lose battles." Better headline: Martin Luther King Jr.’s Youngest Son Dies at Home From Prostate Cancer Here! No intimation that it was a "battle" and that he "lost." This headline is even more informative than the original. Or even: Dexter Scott King Dies at Home From Prostate Cancer 'cause, you know, the guy had a name. I'm not going to link to the source of this shitty headline. They don't merit the publicity. #cancer #ProstateCancer #CancerSurvivor #DexterScottKing #MilitaristicLanguage
