@piglet I don't use #Microslop any more than necessary. Any writing I do is done on open source office programs
ElektroBento 🇪🇺 🇩🇪Hab nen gebrauchtes #thinkpad X1 Carbon bekommen und es war ne MS #windows lizenz dabei. Holy hell ist der Installationsprozess elendig lang und wie viel Werbung und Telemetrie Anfragen man weg klicken muss. Glaube mehr als ne Stunde alles gedauert. Kurz probiert und direkt wieder #linux vom Stick installiert.
15 Minuten später nen nutzbares System am Laufen gehabt. Unglaublich was Windows geworden ist. #microslop

Thomas Frans 🇺🇦Pausing updates on Windows 11 apparently takes time. You click the button and a throbber starts while Windows "pauses updates". It took about a minute on my machine.
I don't even know anymore. In a week I'll finally be able to `rm -rf` (or even better, `shred`) this VM from my PC.
ScoTTY#microslop is at it again: This time, in their Windows 11 "New Media Player", they paywall the HEVC (h.265) video codec.
In other words: Some movies you bought and paid for can now not be played anymore unless you $pay$
Dont give these bullies what they want! At the very least, if you need it, switch to VLC or anything which still has it for free. Or better, if you can: Cancel all your #microslop subscriptions and uninstall windows (linux is better anyway)
superlemonOne thing I've read a couple of times on here is that AI is expensive, but that doesn't seem to match what I see at work. Building a chatbot using genAI is apparently so cheap a hobbyist could make money on it? Or am I missing some info here?
