He describes himself as an amateur historian and professional nerd, which is exactly the right combination for ancient history. Curious, enthusiastic, not pompous, and not pretending to have found Atlantis under every large stone.
His videos investigate the mysteries of ancient history, but with enough groundedness that I donโt feel my brain leaking out of my ears.
There is a lot of ancient history slop on YouTube. Michael Button is not that. He is thoughtful, clear, and genuinely engaging.
Worth a look if you like ancient history, old stones, lost civilisations, and intelligent nerd enthusiasm.
