#MetroTransitMN thru-running Gold Line

Now that the Gold Line (from eastern suburbs to Saint Paul Minnesota) is planned to extend to downtown Minneapolis (gobbling-up the 94C route)... where should a "thru-running" Gold Line run next?

Should the proto-highway-BRT "757" route become the west half of an Extra, Extra, Extra long Gold Line?

Waited 20 minutes for a Minneapolis B-Line bus at 10pm, and has 20 passengers. Fuller than it was at 5pm. #MetroTransitMN could def run more buses. There's no reason for the long headways.

When #metrotransitmn upgrades the 6 to the E this winter, the scoreboard on #transitapp will go away. So while I still have the chance for it, I'm trying to get to the number one contributor spot on the scoreboard!

Northstar Link service will also end on Jan 5th, 2026 so there will be no transit connection between St. Cloud, Becker, Big Lake, Elk River, and the Metro at all during commute times unless there's something I don't know about.I wish #metrotransitmn had a Bustang-esque system instead of severing the only link. https://catchthelink.com/887-detours/

Metropolitan Council set an end date for Northstar service in January 2026. None of the replacement service has any connection with Sherburne County. No other service to St Cloud allows full size bikes. It'll be the first commuter rail line disbanded in modern times that I know of. It's shameful that it was blocked from being completed to St. Cloud so it was destined to flop. Using every opportunity to lobby...

Minneapolis' #MetroTransitMN has a webform to pledge to have "*a* car-free day" in September, and asks what for. I wrote about my bus trip tomorrow:

Update ~9 AM: Regular Metro Transit, Metro Mobility and Transit Link bus service will gradually resume over the next few hours.

Check the Alerts section on the Metro Transit website for the status of your route.

Blue & Green lines & Northstar are operating normally. Orange, Red, A, C, & D Line service has resumed.
