Have we talked about the fact that it’s New Book Week? Maybe not everywhere, but I personally processed 600+ books over the course of two months. That’s a metric shit ton of fingerprint evidence in case I decide to become a criminal. #libraries #MediaCenters
Behold! The fruits of my labors from the past month. The students will get these during New Book Week. #libraries #MediaCenters #TechServices
Look what’s back in stock!!! FINALLY. #CSK #CorettaScottKingAward #libraries #MediaCenters
Only two weeks left of the school. Eight short days to sing songs to children who don’t know the songs with their name in it. 🎶Sheila, take a, Sheila, take a bow…🎶 #MediaCenters #ElementarySchools #sing
Tomorrow we have an author visit with a big name. Can’t wait to share some details. Maybe a child will rip his pristine leather jacket. #GuessWho #surprise #bookstodon #MediaCenters
Not entirely sure how I managed to get co-workers with whom I can share fart jokes, but I love being with my people. #MediaCenters #librarians #FartJokes
What I have learned from being in charge at the library, for two whole whopping days, is that I don’t like being in charge. Media specialist has been out sick and it’s been a time. #ElementarySchools #MediaCenters #librarians #teaching
Our school participates in the voting for the Maud Hart Lovelace award so we had some bookmarks with her face and Betsy Tacy illustrations. A 2nd grader came up to the desk, grabbed a bookmark with Maud’s portrait, and asked, “Who murdered this lady?” Could not be convinced of any other scenario. Might be time to cut back on the Law &Order binge. #MediaCenters #students #murders #TrueCrime #MaudHartLovelace
Anyone have any info on a nation-wide organization that is requesting, under the Freedom of Information Act, that all public school library catalogs be accessible remotely? The school district recently received this request. Ours have always been available, until last week when a software update messed up all our links. Heck, we didn’t even have the catalog in-house. #SchoolLibraries #catalogs #LibrariansOfMastodon #FreedomOfInformation #MediaCenters
One of the worst websites to order from is the ALA. It’s for librarians, are you telling me that no one around there knows how to make a decent-looking AND easy to use website? Also, how can you not know when you’re going to get awards’ stickers back in stock? Award season is practically here! #LibrariansOfMastodon #librarians #MediaCenters #libraries
