Ray gave up the 2 runs in 6 innings on only 3 hits, 6Ks & 92 pitches thrown.
Unless the Giants can figure out how to score 3 runs in their next 2 at bats, it looks like Ray is going to get #MattCained like Roup was yesterday. π€¦ββοΈ

Roup did a good job of holding the #Dodgers to only 2 runs in 6 innings & the rest of the bullpen shut them out but Roup & company got #MattCained because Otani & the Dodgers bullpen was able to limit the Giants to just 1 run on 3 hits.π€·ββοΈ
Ray is starting for the Giants today. I won't be able to watch the game because I'm headed to Modesto to watch their MiLB team, the Nuts, play this afternoon at John Thurman field at the same time.
So, I'll just have to check on the box score later.

@Cdespinosa Nice assessment of Verlander's misfortunes w/the Giants.
He should have at least a couple of wins because he got #MattCained a couple of times but he's generally been a disappointment.
The Giants didn't gamble that much on him but they have to realize that it was a bad bet &, if possible, trade/release him at/before the trade deadline to improve the starting rotation w/something better for the end of season stretch.
The Giants s*ck again by losing 0-1 to the #ChiSox yesterday 6/28.
Ray gave up a solo HR in the bottom of the 6th but otherwise threw a good game; 6 innings, 4 hits, 2 walks & 6Ks.
Only problem was that he got #MattCained by the Giants' hapless "batters" who struck out 7 times, got only 4 hits, left 4 runners on base & were 0-2 with RISP.
Their only scoring opp in the top of the 6th went like this:

The #Dodgers (52-32) & the #Padres (45-37) also both lost yesterday. So, the Padres & the Giants (45-38) remain 6 & 6.5 games behind LA in the NL West.
But yesterday's loss also drops the Giants into the 4th spot in the Wild Card race, 1/2 game behind the #Brewers & #Cardinals who are tied for 3rd
Let's hope the Giants can beat the ChiSox to take the series later today.
