I went on record earlier this
#MLB season with my disdain for the
#Padres front office making a HUGE mistake choosing Craig Stammen as their new manager this past off-season. He was an average relief pitcher, and I couldn't see any way he could become a great manager, considering he has ZERO managerial experience. That disdain grew just a little more today when I saw that he had penciled
#goldglove outfielder Fernado Tatis Jr into the second base slot. Fernando, as athletic as he is, has only played 1 inning at second base. One. And the reason? To get Nick Castellanos and his .214 batting average (with zero home runs) into the lineup. Jake Cronenworth will sit tonight, taking his .163 batting average and 1 HR out of the lineup. Stammen will either be proven a genius or a complete tool by 10 pm Pacific.
