My ongoing frustration is the large scale failure to acknowledge that we can't ‘renewable' our way out of the #ClimateCrisis. The #MaterialCosts (that is the materials required, such as copper, steel, concrete, lithium, etc.) simply cannot be met. Conservative estimates by experts in material costs are that we only have enough resources to generate about half of our current energy consumption from renewables. This is not going away, there is a zero chance that the efficiency of the renewable technologies will improve by factor of two. Makes me feel like Private Frazer (mind you, undertaking is guaranteed to be a big growth business in the years to come).
