I'm getting random "sexy lady" avatar followers with links to their "private 18+" today from mastodon.world. Looks like they are trying a new tactic to stay under the radar by only following 10 to 15 from each account. No doubt that requires a lot of accounts, so must mean they've fully automated account creation.

I reported them to the host moderator. Hopefully this will get nipped soon.

I have a follower listed as shown in the photo below.
I can’t block the account because clicking on the avatar doesn’t take me to the account’s page—just does a short buffer.
I don’t know if it’s connected but recently I’ve gotten a bunch of follows from women wanting to “connect” which I have been able to block.

What is this? How can I block it?

This latest wave of spam here on Mastodon has been pretty bad over the last 2 - 3 days.

I think I've personally reported close to 50 accounts so far and I'm still getting them as we speak.

We have received a bunch of empty Admin Reports from @mindly.social and our reaction have been to Suspended their system account to avoid further spam from them, and Silenced them to help keeping they users of the grid. This is also done to protect the fediverse against CloudFlare's tracking and spying on users and absorbance of [PII](/articles/MTX-A-79/PII) data
