Not wildlife as such but worth a mention of seriously wind weather crossing into Spain from Portugal; one snapped tree after Evora, stopped to help remove it, a lot later two ore, one either side of narrow road, services already in place, rain,,,, in high pressure hose sort of, wind stripping molecules from a Medieval castle.... ;O) and at 853m asl!

' Well I had and I didn't have a plan, for this, though between the severe weather (wind 100kph - open hose rain - looks like Wales), two broken trees across the road one each side, of course, services already in place, to make a short story shorter, I had in mind that if the weather was good I would come up here to have a look at the landscape; the weather was bad, still is very bad, and apparently worse to come, but OK, not much of a landscape, but the town... well... the town...

Wearing my Welsh coat of rain, decided to go for a walk around the place, did the lot minus the castle as it was closed, and it is a Medieval marvel, proper and authentic. Stopped at a hotel and asked if they had a room, yes and given the low season, cheaper than usual, so took it. Yep. Went down again thusly completing the circuit, got the car and brought it up to the hotel, blimey, what a narrow and twisty climb!
