Miguel Bastos Araújo no Conselho de Estado
Near the border with Spain in the Alentejo is the site of the Mina de São Domingos. A mine since before the Romans, it was taken over by a British firm in the mid 1800s and run by them until the 1960s. They built the entire village, but the workers had these tiny little spaces for their families. It's sprawling, and crazy polluted but almost unearthly, like one is in a science fiction movie.
