History is a GiftAlexander Graham Bell was born #OTD in 1847. He came from a family of speech educators and researchers, and his mother’s transition to deafness led him to pursue studies in acoustics. This eventually led to his invention of the telephone, for which he is most widely known, but Bell also developed other inventions and continued working with the deaf, including Helen Keller.
