#r5rgui has been on CRAN for a few days now! Your handy helper to quickly visually explore routes built by #rstats #r5r ( @UrbanDemog ), powered by #mapgl (https://walker-data.com/mapgl/). Learn more at https://www.ekotov.pro/r5rgui/
I would add WebGL-based visualization libraries (e.g. #deckgl and #mapgl). They are not exactly super new but they're really centraly in how spatial data science has changed over the past 10-ish years. ps. #GeoParquet, and #DuckDB + spatial ! would also be at the top of my list!

Day 05 of #30DayMapChallenge on Earth (Classical Elements 1/4) I've discovered and used the new `tmap.mapgl` to show Swizerland's elevation. It's mindblowing how easy it is. guillaume-noblet.com/30DayMapChal... #dataviz #rstats #tmap #gis #mapgl cc @mtennekes and thanks!
#Accessibility modelers using #r5r #rstats, check this GUI for playing around with R5 network. If many people find it useful, I would get signal if I should invest any more free time into it. https://github.com/e-kotov/r5rgui (uses #mapgl by Kyle Walker (https://walker-data.com/) and #r5r by @UrbanDemog et al)

#30DayMapChallenge #aNewTool #rstats #spanishoddata ( https://ropenspain.github.io/spanishoddata/ ) meets #mapgl and #flowmapper to show differences between daily home-work-home trips and all other frequent and infrequent trips in Barcelona.

Not only trying a new tool (#mapgl #rstats, thanks to https://github.com/walkerke), but also contributing to a new tool (#rstats #flowmapper, thanks to https://github.com/JohMast).

Get Spanish Origin-Destination Data

Gain seamless access to origin-destination (OD) data from the Spanish Ministry of Transport, hosted at <https://www.transportes.gob.es/ministerio/proyectos-singulares/estudios-de-movilidad-con-big-data/opendata-movilidad>. This package simplifies the management of these large datasets by providing tools to download zone boundaries, handle associated origin-destination data, and process it efficiently with the duckdb database interface. Local caching minimizes repeated downloads, streamlining workflows for researchers and analysts. Extensive documentation is available at <https://ropenspain.github.io/spanishoddata/index.html>, offering guides on creating static and dynamic mobility flow visualizations and transforming large datasets into analysis-ready formats.

Time for the #30daymapchallenge! Day 1: points
I was way too deep in this by the time I realised that there is no decommissioning data for North Sea oil and gas, so don't come after me for the back-of-the-envelope forecasting. #MapGl #energytransition #rstats
