Ok, so I can cook...very well, thank you. Decades of home and restaurant quality cooking and finely honed kitchen experience andknow how.

And my wife, well...she's gotten a LOT better over the last 40 years. And I fully admit to all I cannot make chocolate chip cookies a s good as her---not in any way.

But oh....the pricess when she gets in the kitchen...I have to walk away!

Cream butter and shortening together until fluffy....nope (not even at room temperature!) Add eggs, one at a time...nope. Lightly fill measure with flour and level off...nope.

Clean as you go??? NOPE!

But they always come out just the way yuou would want them to...soft misshapen, but generally the right size and extremely addictive.

So, I dutifully go behind and clean up the floofs of flour and shlooshy drips of eggs and clean off ALL the leftover dough from the mixer paddle...and enjoy the cookies.

Downside: My kids are with me this week, and they brought the plague into my home. Which I now have.

Upside: Microsoft Ignite ( #MSIgnite ) starts today, and I can officially tell work I'm "taking it easy" on productivity, then learn all the new things without guilt!
