TIL the Macintosh Portable M5120 DA-15 video out port is not a standard Mac video port-- It's digital! And it's basically the same output going to the LCD display.
It seems Apple was going to make an adapter, but never did? At least one company, Sayett Technology, made the DataShow, HR/MP, a LCD for overhead projectors that supported the SE/30 and the Portable.
Curiously, DataShow projection panels are made by Kodak too 🤔

The new hybrid didn’t change the Mac Portable behavior. As soon as battery power is applied, there’s still random horizontal and vertical lines on the screen and the speaker crackles. Keyboard presses, no change. #RetroComputing #VintageComputing #VintageMac #VintageApple #MacPortable

Mac Portable Hybrid removed. Took a desoldering vac, copper braid, and hot air to get this off the board. Looks like some capacitor electrolyte got under the solder mask of the ground plane but otherwise not bad. #RetroComputing #VintageComputing #VintageApple #MacPortable #Macintosh
