If you were just listening to #CBC Radio #Edmonton #Alberta you might have heard a story about “Faces of Exile” exhibit at the #Library #MacEwanUniversity. #YEG come to the campus until April 5 to take a look and interact with our digital display.

“In early 1939 . . . the police rounded up 45 gay men — . . . Accused of "passive pederasty," the men, ranging in age from 18 to 54, were forcibly removed from their homes and communities.”

From an idea I pitched in 2019 to the announcement of Canada Research Chair in Immersive Learning at MacEwan University!! Of course many hands made this happen, but I’m still pretty chuffed!

I’m on a leave from #MacEwanUniversity and I’m in #australia and #aotearoa #newzealand for just over two months. Visiting libraries, being a tourist, attending three conferences. I promised the folks back home that I would keep in touch, and what the heck, maybe turn some ppl on to the fediverse. I’ll try to keep to not more than one post a day. Today, arrived in #brisbane. Through the magic of time zones, I lost a day somewhere over the ocean. Ahead 16 hours, that’s really only 8 hours. Right?
From my wonderful Provost, “I really believe that the provost must have line of sight across Academic Affairs, and that structure is perhaps best represented as branches on a tree rather than a top-down hierarchy. By working with my colleagues, I should be able to see out as far as course delivery to an individual student.” Dr. Craig Monk
