#MFFButNotTheFunKind

@dawid "What does this mean? An additional 200 billion euros for farmers"

*sigh* Yes, yes, I better get back to work, Jean Baptiste/Hinni/Jacek etc. absolutely need a BIGGER American tractor John Deere can lock them out of any time. Anyway. I will pay the latifundia danegeld, but the lack of push to #EndRebates where it matters (at national level) is one of the great mysteries of #EUpol for me. Easiest opposition free publicity they refuse to take. #MFFbutNotTheFunKind

@VoltEuropa Hola! I only found you just now. May I suggest to use the #EUpol tag? Not for everything, but I have it bookmarked, but don't use the various national parties/national politics tags so I haven't come across your posts until someone reposted it on my timeline.
That said, my actual question is: why are pro 🇪🇺 parties (broad spectrum) so passive and letting the EPP walk all over us? Where is the public outreach campaign for the EU budget battle to #EndRebates ? #MFFbutNotTheFunKind

🇪🇺 #EUpoll time.

Only 🇪🇺 citizens/residents (of any nationality) living in the following countries, please:

"I am a EUropean living in:
- #Germany
- #Netherlands
- #Sweden
- #Austria
- #Denmark

I am aware that my government continues to demand Thatcher-era #rebates to the #EU budget amounting to a 49 billion Euros hole in financing the European Union:"

#EuropeanUnion #UE #MFFButNotTheFunKind #Europe #EUpol #europol #Deutschland #Sverige #Österreich #Nederland #Danmark #politics #EndRebates

Yes, so?
5.6%
Yes, fml, but I didn't vote for them
47.2%
WTF are rebates?
47.2%
Poll ended at .

tldr: we pay higher spreads on debt we need to finance the #EU because German and Dutch politicians have to hide the (insufficient) joint EU debt from their voters because they made them believe it's morally hazardous to issue EU debt because lazy Southerners would spend it on booze and twinks.

At my most voracious, eurobisexual peak, I could at best blow 2 billion a year on wine and groupies. Still leaves 798 for climate change mitigation and Ukraine. 🥂

#EUpol #MFFButNotTheFunKind #eurobonds

@voltdeutschland @ignacyy And it's great. How are we financing it? YOU're not in government, it's ultimately Merz who's going to be negotiating the EU's next 7-year budget. (And maaaybe some SPD minion at lower levels). I wasn't blaming you for not getting us money for it, but I see a bizarre apathy about the #MFFButNotTheFunKind from pro-🇪🇺 parties. And I've seen this eurocinema before, I know how it goes. I'm one of a handful of freaks on the continent who stayed up 96 hours for the '21 summit.

If only there was a 🇪🇺 system that needed adequate Command & Control AND financing during the upcoming EU budget negotiations to address this... #MFFbutNotTheFunKind

If only there was a way to match these financing needs with investors desperate to park their trillions in safe 🇪🇺 assets instead... #MFFButNotTheFunKind

@Akshay How do we get Europeans to rubberneck at the EU budget negotiations instead? #MFFbutNotTheFunKind There's A LOT of guaranteed trashy drama and it impacts all of our lives a lot more.
@hadon Ah, yes, that's the catch. Though it's absolutely the best use of the #MFFbutNotTheFunKind and if the German government actually pushes for it during the EU budget negotiations, it will have done more for the EU than the SPD and Greens and FDP (lol) who put it in their coalition agreement (France has been asking for it since 2017, I think) and then never, ever agreed to finance it. Imagine being more shit at EU affairs than the CDU. 😭
