@VoltEuropa Hola! I only found you just now. May I suggest to use the #EUpol tag? Not for everything, but I have it bookmarked, but don't use the various national parties/national politics tags so I haven't come across your posts until someone reposted it on my timeline.
That said, my actual question is: why are pro 🇪🇺 parties (broad spectrum) so passive and letting the EPP walk all over us? Where is the public outreach campaign for the EU budget battle to #EndRebates ? #MFFbutNotTheFunKind

@voltdeutschland @ignacyy I saw Greta Thunberg RAGE at "the EU" the morning after the Recovery Fund was agreed for not financing green policy enough, even though she did NOTHING to raise awareness in Sweden via her massive platform that the SWEDISH gvt was one of the Frugals who had to be appeased with cuts. tldr: as long as Merz & co. feel no pressure to finance certain things in the 🇪🇺 budget (other than farmers), we can't have nice things. Where's the #EndRebates campaign, btw?

Well, financing via 1. whatever of member statelets GNI is no way to finance a Union that needs massive investments anyway, so if they don't want to pay 3 percent instead, they could always go to market. Every single EU issuance so far has been massively oversubscribed and investors are desperate to park their money in safe 🇪🇺 assets. Quit whining and do eurobonds.

@janeishly @saustrup The TV channel hasn't expanded, the previous 🇩🇪 government didn't finance it even though it told 🇫🇷 it agreed to it. So that's something to fight over in the next EU budget negotiation this year and the next. (Where 🇩🇪 is also refusing to #EndRebates from the Thatcher era, so not sure how the current 🇩🇪 government squares that, maybe it will push the other #FrugalsInTrenches to quit being penny-pinchers). The streaming platform is available everywhere.

Should've said subscription-free, ARTE is a public channel mostly financed by France+Germany. France has been pushing to expand ARTE in all 24 EU languages and use it as our 🇪🇺 public broadcaster for nearly a decade. Germany refused to pay, but recently they seem to have got a jolt and now propose to finance it via the EU budget. They still refuse to #EndRebates tho (a 49 billion hole frugals drill in the EU budget), so let's see how they square that circle.
