We covered the #astronomy & #mythology of the constellation #Lyra -- the lyre--last season (you can listen here: https://starrytimepodcast.podbean.com/e/lyra-cosmic-background/ and here: https://starrytimepodcast.podbean.com/e/lyra-myths-and-retconstellations/), but I had no idea about the Lyre Guitar! This thing is rad!!!

I went to Trondheim to DJ after the epic folktronica band Ævestaden and also caught a track with them on camera. This is the other band of Kenneth Lien that I have a duo with; in this project they use archaic folk music instruments such as #lyre alongside electronic productions to make a modern nordic sound. #folkmusic #electronicmusic

This is Peter Pringle with a #Sumerian song featuring 4000 year old lyrics, in this case a conversation between Dumuzid (Later Tammuz) and his love, Inana (later Ishtar). In the video description he provides some good information, including how the lyrics are multilayered and rather spicy, and relevant links.
Of course, nobody knows what Sumerian #music really sounded like, but exploring is fun. Also, I love the sound of his golden #Lyre of Ur reconstruction.
