New report calls out low pay for N.B. non-profit sector
A new report from the New Brunswick Coalition for Pay Equity highlights the low wages for many working in the non-profit sector.

Despite losing the general argument on the claimed employment costs of a minimum wage, businesses have continued to strongly assert that it is constraining their ability (willingness) to employ people in entry level positions...

However, research by the Low Pay Commission suggests the latest above inflation rise in the UK's minimum wage had little impact on either wage inflation (often predicted) or levels of employment.

Time for business to give their moaning a rest?

Poor #WorkingConditions and #LowPay over the past two decades has resulted in fewer people entering #teaching programs and many #educators throwing in the towel shortly after they enter the system. "We're losing 25 per cent of our new #teachers within the first five years, so it's something that needs to be addressed," #StevenLeSueur, president of the #QuebecProvincialAssociationOfTeachers, said.
