Today, I’m sharing a pencil drawing of the bridge house of the old Willemsbrug in Rotterdam—a bridge that no longer exists, though the bridgekeeper’s houses still stand. This sketch is the first step toward creating a linocut print. It’s amazing how a simple pencil line can tell the story of our city’s history.

5) The Alhambra Theater was designed in a Moorish style by Timothy Pflueger who also designed the Castro which still stands.

The beautiful interior of the Alhambra was gutted and all that now remains of the original bldg is the signage and facade. 😦
