@HankB @sutaio I am surpr. that "As a US user the default UK keyboard has caught me up more than once".Can give an example?

Firefox search line cuts off the accents at top and bottom of Khmer script carrying vowels so I can't read what's written.Libreoffice sometim. freezes up on docs with Khmer characters.

Our Links browser doesn't support Khmer characters correctly they are broken but readable and the EndeavousOS Links version apparently doesn't support them at all.

But hey, <sarcasm> the West doesn't need to make computers work for Khmers, important is that we can exploit Khmers for cheap labour on clothes and shoes thanks to the IMO dictatorship that was IMO installed there by IMO dereliction of duty by the US Embassy within UNTAC when they were obliged to militarily enforce correct transition of power after 1993 democratic elections.

IMO Amnesty International is perpetrating discrimination of the users of Twibright Links lightweight web browser not equipped with JavaScript and IMO Amnesty International are hypocrites: they pose as if fighting for human rights, but they themselves IMO perpetrate discrimination and censorship and Amnesty International IMO violates the basic human right to receive information.

I recommend:
1) Don't send Amnesty International any donations.
2) Tell other people about the behaviour of Amnesty International.
3) Boycott Amnesty International.

Their website consists of a grid of pictures and text. You don't need JavaScript to display that and even if you did, lack of JavaScript would just mean reduced functionality, not blocking of whole website.

This may IMO impact marginalized individuals (people living in poverty, people in developing countries, refugees, dissidents) who cannot afford to buy a powerful device with enough RAM (cf. recent RAM price crisis) to run a resource hungry web browser with JavaScript and exacerbate the digital divide.

IMO Amnesty International is joining the camp of perpetrators of digitalitarian digitatorship, where citizens are required to submit to an ever increasing amount of surveillance and tracking and required to submit to an extortion to purchase ever more expensive electronic devices.

I feel

@screwlisp @prahou Actually links2 and links it's the same web browser, Links version 2 ("text" Links is Links version 2 without graphics compiled in, "graphical" (actually text/graphical) Links is Links version 2 with graphics compiled in where you can turn the graphics on using -g), I don't know why distributions call the binary links2 when the name of the program is links.

@reiddragon @gettie @screwlisp @prahou I don't understand what you mean. I don't know the implementation details of sixels and whether it would open a can of worm regarding reliability of the graphics interface.

My experience with Linux terminal is that it is unreliable even in simple text mode (for example sometimes I edit a long text commandline that wraps at the end of line and time to time, unpredictably, it just goes nuts and starts overwriting itself and generally goes crazy and I have to close the terminal and open another one). Also terminal resizing is chronically unreliable and terminal detection too. I wonder what would happen if we add sixels to that? Get unreliability on next level?

I love paywalls that can be defeated by the advanced technique of ... viewing the page with `links` or `lynx`.

Let’s surf the web like it’s 2024!

I just spent half a day making my blog look better in Links. It was actually 90% there, so just a few tweaks here and there.

Just as a design tool, Links is awesome because it strips away almost everything. Still usable? Great!

I don’t know if my blog *is* great, but I’d use it like that.
