Netflix's latest glove-trotting star-laden conveyer belt-like product, Lift is an EXTREMELY stupid heist thriller that narratively cuts more corners than a carpenter and doesn’t have much if any visual flair. It’s the rare blockbuster-style film from the company that could have actually used more time, namely about 10 minutes or so to actually establish relationships and do the work of developing the heist plan that is essentially done in a speed run. The heist plan is often the best part of these kinds of films, and this one devotes about two brain cells total to the process. Absolutely unconscionable. All
