Here's the Leicester Curve Theatre seen from the path through St George's churchyard

We're having an early meal this evening because we're going out to see a proper play.
None of this musical nonsense this is a Play.

We're seeing the first touring production after the London run of LeCarré's The Spy Who Came In From The Cold at Leicester Curve.

The reviews are promising and I'm a massive fan of Leicester Carré in book & film, so to the first time he's been put on stage should be very interesting.

Mr Grumpy is back home.

The Sound of Music at Leicester Curve theatre was very well done - speaking as someone who doesn't like musicals.
They made good use of the huge stage, and the political / historic context of the story was well done. The imagery of the Nazi Anschluss was extremely well portrayed, particularly with the choice (perhaps inadvertently) of the Von Trapp children, there was some extremely clever use of archive film & recording (although this might have been done slightly better).
The songs are time served crowd pleasers, and they are well presented, and sung very well.
All in all, another Christmas winner from #LeicesterCurve

Tomorrow (Monday) is going to be a very strange sort of day.

We've got to get down to our daughter first thing (but I'm refusing to get up earlier than usual).
She's being discharged from the hospital tomorrow - around 15 months after this admission started after her catastrophic suicide attempt.

We will be taking her and her remaining belongings to her flat in Wellingborough.
Once there I've got a few jobs to get done - setting up her Internet router, reading her meter, and fixing her drugs cupboard to a wall.

We've got to get back home in time to get to the Leicester Curve to see 'My Fair Lady' . Afterwards we're going back with a 'friend' to her house for 'drinks' - this theatre trip has become an annual thing, and, frankly, I dread it.
The travel arrangements are complicated (needs a disabled minibus-taxi for 5 ) and the 'freind' is very odd - elderly & difficult in various ways. The going back to her house is always an awkward occasion.

It'll be fine after!

Daughter and Mrs Mike enjoyed their evening at Leicester Curve - although they were so late home I thought they'd gone clubbing!

I didn't sleep wonderfully - I woke at about 5.30 and couldn't get back to sleep.

This morning I'm dropping Mrs Mike at the gym and then taking our daughter back down the A5 to hospital (I've given up on the M1 due to the roadworks) - she's got a pain clinic appointment this afternoon.

When I get back to Leicester I'm going to have lunch at the #allotment and do a few jobs before collecting Mrs Mike from U3A.

I think I know what I'm doing!
