At last!
I'm surely not the only one to think that everyone that #Superman ever rescues from falling off a building dies instantly in his arms, horrifically, as surely as if they had hit the ground.
But this is possibly the first time (I don't remember #LarryNiven addressing this point in his famous essay.) that I've come across another person explicitly observing the same thing.
People twig that the flying involves enormous, sometimes infinite, amounts of energy. But they don't twig the stresses to a normal human body from hitting two arms of steel at terminal velocity and almost instantly slowing to zero velocity with respect to the ground.
No emergency service or stunt person ever proposed catching people falling off buildings with a fork-lift.
Don't let them tell you that superhero comics are Sci-Fi, kids. There's no science involved. It's *all* magic. (-:
