Joe B. WallI noted recently, that, thanks to my habit of marking the date I bought rechargeable batteries on them with a paint pen, I have cheap low-self-discharge NiMH AA cells from 2008 and 2009 that are still going strong in 2025.
Meanwhile, people are still buying disposable batteries like goofs.
