The parallels between the media treatment of gay men and lesbians then and their treatment of trans people now are clear.
As someone who fought Section 28 then, I stand in solidarity with trans people now.

The LGBT+ History Month is celebrated in the United Kingdom every February, to commemorate the struggles and achievements of #lesbian, #gay, #bisexual, and #transgender people. The month has been celebrated since 2005 and is organized by the charity Schools Out UK. The UK is one of the most progressive countries in the world when it comes to LGBT rights, but there is still much to be done.
